What should I look for when buying a dining room table?

When shopping for your new dining table, you may be tempted to buy the first table you like the look of. However, there are a number of elements you should consider before you take the plunge into purchasing.

Style & design - Your home design reflects your personality, so it makes sense to take the time to consider the style and design of your dining room table. Consider your interior colour scheme and ensure your new table fits the rest of your decor.

Size & shape - Size and shape are extremely important factors to remember, especially if you’re shopping online. You’ll want to ensure you’re buying the right size table for your dining space. Too small, and it will look out of place. Too big, and you won’t have enough space for chairs or to manoeuvre around the room easily.
Material - This consideration marries both design and practicality together. You’ll want to look for a material that matches your personal taste in decor but is also practical. Popular materials for dining tables are wood and glass, as they’re timeless, hardwearing and easy to care for.
